Mohammad Bakri - Palestine


Synopsis

In 2002, during the Israeli invasion of the Jenin refugee camp, Mohammad Bakri entered the camp and created a documentary film titled "Jenin, Jenin." The film was banned and consequently, Bakri faced legal action. The occupation continues, and history repeats itself as the Israeli army once again invaded the camp in 2023. The director entered the camp for the second time to document what occurred during the invasion and compare it to the previous one.

Mohammad Bakri is a Palestinian actor and director, born in 1953. Among his notable theatrical works is the monodrama "The Pessoptimist" by Emil Habibi. He is renowned for his documentary films, including "1948," "Jenin, Jenin," "Min Youm Ma'roht" , and "Zahra." Some of his notable cinematic roles include "Wajib," "Haifa," "The Apostate," "Private," and "Hanna K."
