This exhibition presents photographic and video works by artists who won awards at the 8th Bamako Encounters / African Photography Biennial that took place in November 2009 under the artistic direction of Michket Krifa and Laura Sérani, with the theme “Borders”. This rendez-vous of contemporary art in Africa is unique in its scope: promoting African photography in the world. The Biennial is a co-production of Culturesfrance and the Ministry of Culture, Mali.

The award winning artists are Abdoulaye Barry (Chad), Les Enfants de la rue à N’Djamena // Berry Bickle (Mozambique-Zimbabwe), Sur le Fil // Jodi Bieber (South Africa), Going Home // Baudouin Mouanda (Republic of Congo), Les Séquelles de la guerre de Brazzaville// Zanele Muholi ( South Africa), Miss D’vine // Uche Okpa Iroha ( Nigeria), Under bridge life // Salif Traoré (Mali), Rêve non réalisé // Guy Wouete (Cameroon), Volcano .
