18 movies in competition
In history, key dates are often remembered. The 27th edition of the Carthage film festival will be memorable, at least for two reasons:
With this in mind, selecting films for the official competition takes on a new meaning. Whether in choosing works to screen or in setting up the guest list, with both established authors and promising young shoots, we have to face a fierce competition from other festivals. This is a great challenge and the great names of Arab and African cinema that give priority to Carthage are the best proof of our standing.
This is also the reason behind the motivation of the JCC organizing team. As guardians of the sacred citadel, they are protecting a heritage, against all odds, carrying a unique event at arm's length. An event that is so dear to the creators of life and hope.
For this session, the harvest of applicants is rich and varied.
For this session, we look forward to seeing among us, "old timers" and "new faces", all those who come to see movies that can’t be seen anywhere else, for the most prestigious "judges" but especially for a unique and exceptional public.
I know, that’s more than two good reasons!
