Synopsis

In 1798, Bonaparte invades Egypt under the pretext of liberating it from Turkish oppression. He is accompanied by a group of scientists, one of whom is General Caffarelli, a man of heart and intellect, who befriends two young Egyptians. Bonaparte appears to be an unscrupulous conqueror and a movement of resistance grows. Caffarelli and his two friends become part of it.
