Synopsis

On a farm in the south of France, a mother raises her seven children. Each works hard, in the fields and at home, under the eye of a tyrannical and elusive father. There is another “wife” and he lives between the two homes. In this chaos, the mother is the center of everything. She makes things less harsh and succeeds in preserving her children with her tenderness.
