Synopsis

An Italian steelworks is sold to some Chinese industrialists who send the equipment to their country. Having detected a major defect, the man responsible for maintenance embarks on a journey across modern China. Guided by a young Chinese woman, he will acquire an acute sense of the human dimension on this journey.
