Synopsis

Zanga, born of an adulterous relationship and driven out of his village several years earlier, returns to find out who his father is. His arrival coincides with abrupt changes in the Faro River, interpreted as a sign of the spirit’s anger towards Zanga «the bastard’s» arrival. Beyond these events, and through the story of this village, the film invites us to discover a rural world confronted with change. The village council’s power wavers, and tradition and duty has to compromise with modernity to perdure.
