Synopsis

It all happens in 48 hours in present day Cairo. Leïla, in her 30s, hosts a radio program, «Secrets of the Night,» where the callers confide their love lives. She writes stories, goes to discos, and lives with her mother and her brother. Youssef, also in his 30s, is an anaesthetist. In the morning he works in a respectable private hospital and at an illegal abortion clinic at night. Youssef loves to listen to his patients. He also enjoys listening to Leïla’s broadcast. The two characters will meet one day but their lives won’t change. However, they will realize to what extent they are alone.
