Nadia KAMEL - Egypte : Membre

Nadia KAMEL Egyptian filmmaker, Nadia Kamel was born in 1961 in Cairo, where she continues to live and work. She has worked as assistant director for independent filmmakers in Egypt, namely Atteyat El-Abnoudy, Youssef Chahine and Yousri Nasrallah. She began her own projects in 2000, and she has taken the risk of producing her own low-budget films.

She has addressed daring, often taboo topics, outside the margins of conventional Egyptian discourse. Salata Baladi [A home-made salad], her first film, was produced in this spirit of indomitable independence.
