Synopsis

Ireland, 1952, Philomena Lee a teenager gets pregnant and is sent to the convent. At the age of three, her son is torn from her to be adopted by Americans. Fifty years later, Martin Sixmith a disillusioned journalist convinces her to accompany him to the USA in search of Anthony.
