SAMOUNI ROAD

Stefano SAVONA - Italy

Synopsis

In the rural outskirts of Gaza City, the Samouni family are about to celebrate a wedding, the first celebration since the last war. Amal, Fuad, and their brothers and cousins have lost parents, homes and olive trees. Their neighbourhood is being rebuilt; as they plant trees and plough fields their task is to rebuild their memory. Samouni Road uses recollections to show a family recovering from an event that changed their lives.
