Synopsis

The film considers the Brazilian artist Vik Muniz and his unusual artistic project: photographing gatherers of recyclable rubbish in scenes composed of objects and materials from the tips of the Jardim Gramacho, the biggest rubbish dump in the world, in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.

João Jardim (Rio de Janeiro, 1964) is a cinéaste brésilien. Along with the British Lucy Walker and the Brazilian Karen Harley, João Jardim co-directed the documentary "Trash Extraordinário". The film was nominated for an Oscar for best documentary in 2011 and won awards at the Berlin Film Festival and the Sundance Film Festival.
