LA PETITE VENDEUSE DE SOLEIL

Djibril Diop MAMBÉTY - Senegal

Synopsis

In Dakar, selling newspapers on the street is an occupation reserved for boys. But one morning, Sili, a young beggar, challenges that rule. Between 10 and 13, she walks the streets on crutches and sells her papers just where the boys sell theirs. They attack her and she falls, rolling over and over. That’s it; she will continue to sell newspapers, starting from tomorrow.
