Synopsis

When the ‘Jungle’ in Calais, France, closed, what happened to the thousands of migrants dispersed around the country? In Cancale, Brittany, we follow some of them, mainly some young Somalis, looking at the routes they have taken and their hopes for a better future, as well as the people who support them.

A Franco-Algerian writer and director. He directed several films on the history of Algeria and colonization, including: Les massacres de Sétif, Un certain 8 mai 1945 and Le silence du fleuve. His interest in the history of immigration inspired him to produce the series Un siècle d’immigration en France. He wrote about twenty books, including Exils, Exodes, Errances, Les Poilus d’ailleurs, and Une nuit d’octobre.
