Synopsis

The Desert Voices tells the story of three destinies: Mouloud, a young orphan who goes to the desert in search of his parents; Hammadi, an old man who lives in the desert awaiting his son’s return from abroad; Zineb, a young woman who tries to protect the memory of her father. A bottle full of sand links the three of them.

Daoud Aoulad-Syad was born in 1953 in Marrakech, Morocco. He worked at the FEMIS Workshop Cinema in Paris in 1989. In 1998 he made Farewell Fairground, in 2010 he directed a feature film, The Mosque, in 2001 The Wind Horse, in 2003 Tarfaya-Bab Lbhar, and in 2007 Waiting for Pasolini.
