One more year for Chabaka. One more year that denotes a growing interest for this section wich was always able to merge new energies giving birth to promising projects of talented filmmakers.
Since then, Chabaka has moved from Arab-African recognition to an international one. Through its presence at major festivals in Europe an beyond. Our development workshop is positioned as the first step to cinematographic creation, we offer to our participant as well as to the professionals an area for exchange and know-how.
For this year’s festival edition, “Néjib Ayed Edition” our workshop will be carried from the 28th of October to the 30th. During three days, partners directors and producers from Arab and African countries will take full advantage of audiovisual specialists expertise and advices.
The workshop will end with a pitching live session in front of an international jury for the purpose of getting financial development grants. The Awards are offered by our partners; The National Center of Cinema and Image (CNCI), The Film Prize of the Robert Bosch Stiftung and TV5 Monde.
Several selected projects over the years have known an international path and other emerged, amongst them we have the pleasure to have two films programmed at our festival; “Good morning” by Bahij Hojeij will be screened in the frame of the Focus Lebanon and “Haifa Street”by Muhanad Hayal: Best film at Busan Film Festival 2019, is in JCC official competition
