Jellyfish ( SYRIA - Documentary )

Synopsis

Four activists are using a camera for the first time; transmitting images of the Syrian revolution from the city of Zabadani. Their desire to show the world what is happening becomes a tool manipulated by the media.

Statement of intent

Jellyfish is my attempt to better understand the transmitted images of the events that changed my country and that affected my life for three years. I want to recognize circumstances, events, and contradictions that I did not actually experience but lived through, missing pictures and images ; including the image of my perception of that reality which I could not be part of transmitting.

Biography

Khaled Abdulwahed is a creative visual artist born in Homs, Syria in 1975. He started his career in design & art specializing in mainstream media and visual Communication arts. He has several mixed-media and fine-art photography exhibitions in his portfolio. In 2011, Khaled started mixing creative media with a documentary approach and directed three short films ; Bullet in 2012 a short animation film, Tuj and Slot in Memory which received worldwide recognition.
